Canada Day Parade

July 1st, 2003

Labour union and Canadian flags, and banners from allied organizations, decorated the flatbed truck which formed part of the Labour Council entry in the 2003 Canada Day Parade. There were about 20 participants from local unions and community organizations, including the Council of Canadians, the Health Care Coalition and the New Democratic Party. The entry also included a vintage 1949 Dodge pickup truck and walkers who handed out lollipops, balloons and invitations to the forthcoming September 1 Labour Day Picnic. Thanks go to entry organizer Margot Marshall and to Cathcart Trucking who provided the flatbed.
